PULASTYA
Pulastya
was one of the seven Manasputra / mind born sons of Brahma and
one of the Saptarishis (Seven Sages) in the seventh, i.e the present
Manvantar.
He is considered to be the medium through which some of the Purans
were communicated to mankind. It is said that Pulastya received
the Vishnu Puran from Brahma and he gave its knowledge to Parashar
who then made it known to mankind.
Pulastya was father of Agastya and Visravas he was also the grand
father of Kuber and Ravan and all the Rakshash are supposed to
be decedents of him. Pulastya was married to one of Kardam nine
daughters named Havirbhoo.
