Shatanand was son of Gautam rishi. Shatanand was the Kul Guru of King Janak. He performed the marriage of Lord Ram and Sita. Shatanand had a son called Satyadhriti who was master in military and science i.e. Dhanurved.

Sharadwaan had a son called Satyadhriti. It is said that Shatanand is going to be one of the Saptrishis of the eighth manvantar along with Ashwatthama, Rishya Sring, Kaushikya, Galav, Kashyap and Parashuram.
