Rishi Vashishth is one of the ten Manasputra of Brahma. Vashishth was married to one of the nine daughters of Kardam her name was Arundhatee. Vashishth and Arundhatee had 100 sons two of them are Mitra and Shakti. Vashishth was appointed by Brahma as the Purohit of Surya Vansh (the dynasty in which Lord Ram was born).
