VAJRA IN BUDDHISM

9. Vajra in Buddhism :

Founder of Buddhism :

Buddhism was founded by Siddharth Gautam who was a Shakya (Shak) belonging to Sage Gautam clan. Siddhartha Gautama was born in c. 563 B.C. or 480 B.C. in Lumbini, Shakya Republic. Suddhodana was his father and Maya Devi was his mother. Siddharth Gautam's wife was Yashodhra and they had a son named Rahul.

Since Siddharth Gautam was from lineage of Sage / King Gautam / Gaudumu / Gotama he must have know about Vajra. This is how Vajra entered into the books of Buddhism.

Sage / King Gautam / Gaudumu / Gotama was brother of Indra / Thor / Adam.

From the above photographs we have a glimpse of how the shape of Vajra in Buddhism came into existance.

King Thor , Sig, Ode, or Adam. From Hittite stele

Note : He is bearded, in Gothic dress with shaven upper lip, horned hat, long boots with turnedup toes, carrying in right hand his Hammer and in left Fire-torch.

Thus, we come to know that the Thunder Bolt also represents Indra / Adam / Thor and the origin of this symbol is Sumerian.
