Adi Parv, Mahabharat / Book I Chapter 61 gives genealogy of the Danavs, Asurs, Kauravs, Pandavs, Gandharvs, Apsaras, Rakshashs. Bhargav is mentioned in Mahabharata (I.61.70).

 

Bhism Parv, Mahabharat / Book VI Chapter 10 describes geography and provinces of Bharatvarsh. Province of Bhargavs is mentioned in Mahabharat verse (VI.10.49).

 

Anusasan Parv / Book XIII Chapter 4 gives ancestry of Viswamitra, a Kshatriya whose sons became progenitors of many races of Brahmans and founders of many clans. Bhargav is mentioned in Mahabharat verse (XIII.4.8).

 

Aswamedh Parv, Mahabharat / Book 14 Chapter 8 mentions that there is a peak named Munjaban on the summits of the Himalaya mountains, where the adorable Lord of Uma (Mahadev) is constantly engaged in austere devotional exercises. On all sides of that mountain, there exist mines of gold. The attendants of Kuber protect these mines of gold from intruders. The names include Bhargav in verse (14.8.20).
